Djeru and Hazoret - MTG Arena Brawl Play Guide

Intro
Djeru and Hazoret is a very aggressive Boros (red/white) deck that tries to cast a big creature for free as quickly as possible. I first played against this deck and got run over quickly, so I saw the power of going fast while still getting big creatures into play.
Here's a video showing how this deck plays on Arena.
The decklist I use on MTG Arena can be found on Moxfield.
Starting hand
This is one of the few decks where mulliganing down to 5 or 6 isn't a big deal, as you can enable Djeru and Hazoret's ability better if you are hellbent (have no cards in hand). Ideally you don't have any of your 6+ mana creatures in your starting hand and you have at least one piece of ramp.
Early game
The whole goal of the early game is to play out your hand and get to 5 mana. You'll want to play out all your creatures and use the removal on anything you can in order to have less cards in hand and clear any problems. It's a good idea to get in damage when you can, so attack with your small creatures if possible.
Late game
You'll want to time it so you can play Djeru and Hazoret with only 0 or 1 card in hand, because you don't want to give extra opportunity for your opponent to remove it. Even if the attack with haste isn't a good attack, you want to get the trigger off of your commander to try to get Elesh Norn, Ulamog, or Emrakul. Casting one of these should be good enough to get you a win.
Win-cons
I find this deck wins by either:
- Getting enough early creatures to be aggressive in combat, especially if the opponent is paying life for fetchlands or shocklands.
- Casting an Eldrazi or Praetor for free.
Bad matchups
Control decks that can counter your commander or keep you from getting to 5 mana are the toughest matchups.
